Generating Labour Cost Budget for a Construction-Oriented Fabrication Facility: Simulation-based Resource Scheduling Approach

A novel labour-hour budgeting methodology is proposed by integrating productivity concepts in project scheduling and to enhance the accuracy of labour cost for planning labour-intensive projects. The applies discrete event simulation approach represent crew formation, resource utilization flowing between consecutive activities, which allows quantitatively characterizing impact semi-productive time on as a time-dependent variable. Simulation-based assessment variations sizes allocations conducive reducing thus enhancing performance whole project. then applied real-world case study steel girder fabrication projects construction highway bridges. Not limited resources construction-oriented facility, research contributions are also significant other settings where shared utilized among different activities.
